Biology Type of larval development: direct (non planktotrophic) denoted by paucispiral protoconch. [details] Diagnosis Shell 1.7 to 2.6 mm high, with protoconch of a little more than 1.25 whorls, and teleoconch of 3 to 3.5 whorls. Protoconch smooth, teleoconch with faint axial folds on the first teleoconch whorl, disappearing gradually; body whorl rounded, nearly smooth macroscopically.
Teleoconch with characteristic “Porosalvania” microsculpture consisting of minute (ca. 1 µm) pits loosely aligned in the spiral direction, visible only under high magnification of scanning electron microscope. Outer lip smooth inside, distinctly thickened externally at some distance from the edge, then thinning out to a cutting edge.
