Etymology [The species name was derived from Latin conspicuus, standing out, distinguished, and referred to the large size and the broad width of the posterior segments as Zelinka (1928, p. 344) stated: "Mit H. longisetosus gehört diese Larve zu den größten Formen von Hyalophyes. ... und durch die bedeutende Breite des Hinterendes ..." = Together with H. longisetosus this larva belongs to the largest forms of Hyalophyes. ... and by the significant width of the posterior end ...] [details]
