Diplotis hyalina, plate 14, fig 5 in Montagu
Description Based upon the description in Montagu, Diplotis hyalina is without a doubt a Diptera larva. Montagu made an error when describing his taxon. Anterior end is in fact the posterior part showing the posterior spiracles and the anal opening and his tapering, tridentate posterior end is the head with the anterior spiracles. Through the translucent body one can see the tracheal tubes connecting the anterior spiracles with the posterior spiracles. It is hard to tell which family but definitely a Cyclorrhapha.
