Distribution The species is typical from the Gulf of Aqaba (Red Sea). Nogueira and San Martìn (2002) include the Eastern Mediterranean area in the species homerange (as reported by Musco & Giangrande, 2005). However, since no taxonomic redescriptions from the Mediterranean are are available, its presence has to be considered uncertain. If confirmed it could represent a typical case of Lessepsian migrant [details]
