Diagnosis Test irregular, spherical to ovoid, 0.7 mm in length; outer layer of cytoplasm with numerous densely packed but uncemented small elongate calcite spicules about 5 µmin length, produced by the protozoan, may also have some foreign matter external to the spicular layer; no definite aperture; nucleus large, round; fine and elongate pseudopodia with pronounced granular streaming may arise anywhere on surface but are most numerous at lateral margins.
