Taxonomy According to San Martín & Hutchings (2006) the Australian specimen may represent a new species, but as there was only a single incomplete and slightly damaged specimen available, it was preferred to assign it to an alreday described species. The Australian specimen differs from the European ones by being proportionally smaller, having smaller palps, shorter antennae and dorsal cirri, longer pharynx and shorter proventricle, and varying in the length of chaetal blades.  [details]
