Description Distribution: Northeast Atlantic, Mediterranean, Indo-West Pacific down to New Zealand. Dorsal fin continuous with 0-4 spines; anal fin 0-1 spines. Vomer and palatine toothless. Body color usually red or pink. Maximum length 70 cm attained in Cepola rubescens. [details]
