Homonymy There is no junior homonym genus Dinophilus Schultze,1849. Nomenclator zoologicus treats mention of Dinophilus vorticoides (p288) and Dinophilus in a listing (p292), as a new genus instance, thus a homonym, but it is a usage of the existing Dinophilus genus of Schmidt (1848). Schultze (1849 p.292) places Dinophilus in class Turbellaria, subclass Dioica, order Arhynchia. For a period Dinophilus was regarded as a platyhelminth. [details]
