Etymology Knight-Jones states Branchiomma moebii was "named after Professor K. A. Möbius who collected the largest and best preserved specimens" When collected the specimens were identified as Dasychone lucullana. [details]
Type locality Knight-Jones (1994:192) only gives the locality of the holotype ( ZMHUB 2304A, Humboldt University, Berlin) as Rovinj, North Adriatic. Possibly collected by KA Möbius, although Knight-Jones is vague on this. [details]
