Etymology The species is dedicated to the French-born (Montpellier) Mexican physician, naturalist and herpetologist Alfredo Dugès, (birth name Alfred Auguste Delsescautz Dugès; April 16, 1826 - January 7, 1910). According to Claparède (1864: 557), "Je la dédie [the species] à Dugès, l'illustre savant de Montpellier, qui fut peut-être le premier à avoir une Odontosyllis sous les yeux".  [details]
