Spelling The name verticillata was originally spelled as 'verticellata' by Bowerbank, 1866. In 1874 in the legend of Plate XXVII (p. 69) and in the accompanying text he spelled it as verticillata. It is assumed here that the original spelling was a 'lapsus calami' (an original misspelling) and accordingly the corrected name is accepted as verticillata. [details]Unreviewed
