Taxonomy L. marmoratus (Alder & Hancock, 1845) is prefered, however this species is described in 1844 by Vérany as "Lomanoto di géné". This name is in 1846 latinised as L. genei. So the name of Alder & Hancock has priority. A few authors consider L genei and L. marmoratus as two different species (Seaward, 1982). [details]
