Although the accepted year date is 1867 for both, Kinberg's article is in the 1866 issue of the journal, and has a late 1866 date on the title page, as does the following article, whereas Gray's article is dated May 1867 (fide R van Soest). Evaluating the dates conservatively, Kinberg's article was likely published very early in 1867 at the latest and thus was likely to be before Gray's.
