Reproduction Those breeding in the northern United States and Canada winter in the southern United States. It is at its northern limit in the east in New Brunswick but in western Canada it Breeds north to Lake Athabasca. Nest is either floating or built up from the bottom in shallow water. Eggs are laid between mid May and early August. [details]
