Abstract

A junior homonym was detected among amphipod genus group names and the following replacement name is proposed: Acosta nom. nov. for Pardia Ruffo, 1987 (nec Guenée, 1845). In accordance with the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature, I propose a substitute name for this genus. The new combination Acosta punctata (Costa, 1851) comb. nov. is proposed.
