Etymology The specific epithet armoricana means 'native of Armorica', and is composed by the toponym Armorica, the name given in ancient times to the part of Gaul between the Seine and Loire rivers, including the Brittany peninsula and a large part of what became Normandy, followed by the suffix -ana, meaning 'native of' or 'relating to', and seems to refer to the type locality of the species, placed in what was Armorica.
