Taxonomy Many nominal species of Hymenodiscus are known only from type material, which is in many cases based only on arm tips and other fragments. The wide distributions of the better known taxa and the taxonomic implications of recognizing juvenile individuals dictate that all species in this genus require serious re-examination. [details]
