Type locality The Western Caspian Sea, Kuuli Cape, Dazmyk, Apsheron [details]
Validity The species has been listed as accepted in recent species catalogues, but there is considerable doubt about its validity given the morphological similarity to congeners (see Wesselingh et al. 2019). Until molecular data are available to ascertain its identity, we treat the present species as a nomen dubium. However, no living specimens of D. elata have been recorded since 1957 (Kostianov & Kosarev 2005). [details]
