Seventeen nereidid species are characterized on the basis of materials collected along mexican Caribbean localities, deposited in the reference collection of CIQRO, and with the examination of some type material of museums. Divided by subfamily, the species are: Gymnonereidinae.- Nicon moniloceras (Hartman, 1940), Rullierinereis mexicana (Treadwell, 1942) and Stenoninereis martini Wesenberg-Lund, 1958; Nereidinae.- Ceratonereis brasiliensis (McIntosh, 1885), C. Excisa (Grube, 1874), C. Irritabilis (Webster, 1879), C. Longicirrata Perkins, 1980, C. Mirabilis Kinberg, 1866, C. Singularis Treadwell, 1929, Neanthes acuminata Ehlers, 1868, Nereis falsa Quatrefages, 1865, N. Jacksoni?? Kinberg, 1866, N. Pelagica Linne, 1767, Perinereis anderssoni Kinberg, 1866, Perinereis floridana (Ehlers, 1868), P. Monchimaensis Linero-Arana, 1983, Platynereis dumerilii (Audouin & Milne-Edwards, 1834), and Pseudonereis gallapagensis Kinberg, 1866. A key for identification of the 48 species known from the Grand Caribbean is included.
