Taxonomy Most of the genera listed above were formerly included in Antedonidae subfamily Zenometrinae but were excluded with no subfamilial assignment when Messing & White (2001) elevated the subfamily to family Zenometridae and restricted its included taxa to the genera Zenometra, Psathyrometra and Sarametra. The genera Promachocrinus and Solanometra were formerly included in subfamily Heliometrinae; however, recent molecular evidence returns them as a separate clade of uncertain subfamilial affiliation (Eleaume, 2006). [details]
