Taxonomy There is no support to maintain the superfamily Pontoporeoidea since the family Priscillinidae sits at the base of the Haustoriidiran clade alongside the Pontoporeiidae and both share important haustoriidiran characters, including setose antennae and pereopods, pereopods 6 & 7 different in structure, and uropods 1 & 2 without apical robust setae. The two families are now found within the superfamily Haustorioidea [details]
