Additional information (en): These isolated conical knolls are part of the northernmost group of knolls on the western side of Tauranga Trough. The name first appeared on Coastal Bathymetry Series (CBS) chart 'Bay of Plenty' in 1973. Minimum depth (m): 629. Maximum depth (m): 1300. Total relief (m): 671. Dimension/size: 7 km x 6 km.

GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): History: "Ngatoro-i-rangi" is credited in Maori stories with creating the volcanic zone from Hawaiiki to New Zealand. There is a macron on the "a".
