It has been mentioned in many scientific papers, publications and studies on the Brazilian continental margin, such as Schereiner et al (2008) and Almeida & Kowsmann (2014). Minimum depth (m): 570. Maximum depth (m): 2300. Total relief (m): 1730. Dimension/size: ~ 42 km long and 1 to 5 km wide. |

GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: U.S. research vessel "Robert D. Conrad". Year of discovery: 1973. History: Goitacá refers to an individual of the Goitacás indigenous group, which lived in Brazil between the 2nd and 18th centuries. They were exterminated by a smallpox epidemic that was criminally spread among then by colonizers. The Goitacás used to occupy coastal areas of the southeast of Brazil, between the Espírito Santo State and the Rio de Janeiro State. |
