History: Named from the city of Bolinao, established in 1575 in the Philippines province of Pangasinan. Bolinao is known for its several tourist attractions such as Cape Bolinao Lighthouse, built in 1905 and one of the oldest in the Philippines. The city hosts the Bolinao Marine Laboratory which is the official marine station of the University of the Philippines - Marine Science Institute. |
