Abstract
BASSMAP will prepare a medium density linkage and synteny map to improve the knowledge on inheritance in sea bass. The aims to reach this goal are: 1. the breeding of meiotic reference families, 2. to provide DNA from the reference families to other mapping projects, 3. to develop of a partially characterised BAC library, 4. to develop and anchor a genetic linkage map with AFLP and microsatellite markers, 5. to develop a synteny map with the EST and 6. to prepare a pilot study in the field of QTLs.
