Abstract
The fragmentary skull-roof of a new Brachythoracid Coccosteidae, Ardennosteus ubaghsi, has been discovered in the Upper Devonian of Esneux quarry (Prov. de Liège). From the same horizon and same region, was described "Dinichthys" belgicus. This new find clearly shows that Dinichthyidae and Coccosteidae lived together in the Upper Famennian of Belgium. It also implies to reconsider the classical view that the Coccosteidae were relayed by the Dinichthyidae.
