Gewone hooiwagenkrab - Macropodia rostrata
Description Enkele mariene wetenschappers (ILVO) die werken op het FishConnect-project vonden vorige week een merkwaardig diertje in het net van de hyperbenthische slede: de gewone hooiwagenkrab of Macropodia rostrata (waarbij Macropodia letterlijk staat voor ‘grote poten’). Het mooie krabbetje voedt zich met algen en kreeftachtigen en komt vrij algemeen voor van Noorwegen tot West-Afrika op een diepte van 4 - 90m. Dit exemplaar werd dinsdag opgevist t.h.v. de Kwintebank.
