Etymology The species name was derived from Latin rugosus, rugose, with many folds, and referred to the extensive rugose appearance of the tergal pachycycli (Zelinka 1928, p. 316: "wegen des weitheraufreichenden Faltensystems an den tergalen Pachyzyklen "rugosus" genannte Art" = because of the extensive folding system on the tergal pachycycli species named "rugosus"). [details]
