Nomenclature The original name Rhabdodictyon has been emended as Rhabdodictyum and the latter has become the prevailing name. It is unclear who was responsible for the emendation. Reiswig (2002) cited Zittel (1883) as the source for the name change but the name used by Zittel (1883: 180) is Rhabdodictyon. The emendation is technically unjustified but prevailing usage justifies it (ICZN 33.2.3.1)  [details]
