Taxonomy There is no agreement on the family-level arrangement of the genera of the Galeommatoidea, although some rather consistent support is found for the family Galeommatidae (Goto et al. 2011). Some authors regard only one or two families as really justified (e.g. Ponder in Beesley et al., 1998, Huber 2015). Herein, following Bieler, Carter & Coan (2010), the families Galeommatidae and Lasaeidae are recognized, with the Montacutinae grouped at the subfamily level. [details]
