For each institution (listed by country) the Directory gives name, address, accessibility and services offered, and details of the holdings, mentioning important items. The Directory is intended to help scientists to locate earlier material relating to their present topic or area of study, to show historians where surviving records may be found, and to remind institutions holding this unique material of its value.
