A new species of the genus Arhodeoporus (Acari: Halacaridae) from Zanzibar, Tanzania

Arhodeoporus tanzanicus sp. nov. is described on the basis of the specimens collected from Pingwe, the eastcoast of Zanzibar, Tanzania. This is the first record of the genus from Tanzania. This species is a member of the longirostris group and characterized by dorsal seta-5 posterior to the anterior gland pore on posterior dorsal plate (PD), anterior margin of PD truncate, ocular plate with long tail surpassing the level of anterior gland pore on PD, rostrum longer than gnathosomal base, tip of rostrum extending to basal part of fourth palpal segment, bipectinate setae on tibiae I-IV: 0-2-1-1.
