Durinq the years 1975, 1976 and 1977 numbers, length-growth and distribrition of 0-group plaice on the Balgzand, a tidal flat in the western Wadden Sea, have been investigated. Several tests were done concerning the efficiency of the net used, mesh selection, and about the shrinkage in length of the 0-group plaice caught concluded was, that the environmental factors on the tidal flats seem to be rather favourable for the enormous numbers of 0-group plaice found here.
