Abstract
This fundamental research project, financed by FWO (Fonds voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek- Vlaanderen), is a multidisciplinary cooperation between the University of Antwerp (UA, promotor), University of Gent (UG), and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). The main goal of the research project is to investigate how the diverse physical and biological processes and their interactions determine the exchange of water, dissolved compounds and particulate matter in margins and inundation areas of water courses.
