Abstract
Fundamental studies of the role of the benthos in the marine ecosystems ; productivity and energy flow, mineralisation and nutrient regeneration, mobilisation of heavy metals and importance of fisheries. Competition between non-commercial fishes.
Benthos as an indicator of pollution, long term monitoring of meio-benthic and macrobenthic populations and communities.
