Abstract
In June-July 1991, an international research cruise aboard R/V Gelendzhik was organized in the Mediterranean and Black Sea, this being in the context of the UNESCO's Training and Education in Marine Sciences (TREDMAR) programme. Professors and students from nine universities of six countries attended. Initial results of detailed geological and geophysical investigations of selected areas of Eastern Mediterranean (East of Cyprus and Anaximander Mountains) and northwestern Black Sea (region of development of mud volcanoes) are presented.
