Abstract
Eggs of closely related estuarine and neritic Pomatoschistus species were incubated at 24 different temperature-salinity combinations (ranges 10 to 25°C, 5 to 55 per thousand S). Rate of development, survival and larval length at hatch were recorded in relation to incubation conditions. Optimum conditions and limits for development and survival of the eggs were compared with the conditions in the normal spawning habitat.
