Abstract
The types of Duplicaria duplicata (Linnaeus, 1758) and its historic synonyms Duplicaria lamarckii (Kiener, 1837), Duplicaria reevei (Deshayes, 1857) and Duplicaria duplicatoides (Bartsch, 1923) are discussed, reassessed and the taxa are validated as separate species. Furthermore, the status of Duplicaria concolor (E. A. Smith, 1873), Duplicaria morbida (Reeve, 1860), Duplicaria nadinae (Aubry, 2008) and Duplicaria similis (E. A. Smith, 1873) within the D. duplicata-complex is briefly discussed to facilitate future revisions.
