Abstract
This report presents the distribution of marine, benthic macro-organisms (algae, invertebrates, fish) from the areas of Svalbard (including Bear Island) and Jan Mayen. This work was initiated as a first step of a mapping of marine “nature values” near Svalbard in the same geographical region. The data are collected from unpublished and published sources and are based on existing information and supplemented with analyses from certain areas from which data were scarce. In total, information was collected from 1179 stations, and 1871 species were recorded within the area of investigation.
