Description Links: typsiche vorm van de blauwgestreepte schaalhoren met helblauwe metaalkleurige onderbroken streepjes, levend op de thallus van bruinwieren. Rechts: tussen de klauwvoeten van de wieren leeft een andere, stomper een niet gekleurde vorm (vroeger gladde schaalhoren genoemd). Beide vormen behoren tot dezelfde soort.
